Borgata And The World Poker Tour
As the sun set outside of the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa Thursday evening, play came to a close in event six, the $1,500 buy-in tournament final table. One of the more expensive buy-ins in the Borgata Winter Poker Open produced a field of 244 players and a prize pool of $366,000. Some of the bigger names in Borgata poker history came out for this event. Players like World Series of Poker main event second-place finisher Steve Dannemman, Chip Jett, Arnold Spee, Paul Darden, Bill Blanda, and Chris 'Triple Draw' Fargis, graced the tables of the Borgata event center. Only Dannemman survived to make it to the final table but his luck didn't last long when he ran in to a set of fives. He collected $10,980 for finishing in eighth place. Also joining the final table and once again proving he is a force to be reckoned with at any tournament was 2005 September Borgata Poker Open $1,500 buy-in event winner and World Poker Tour final table veteran, Robert 'Action Bob' Hwang.
